The best photo-editing app!

We all know that professional photos outshine amateur photos, but few of us can afford to have a pro photographer shoot every room and every detail.

And what about when a client sends us a celebratory photo that we want to share out, but it’s not quite up to snuff for our #Instagram feed? 🧐

As they say… there’s an app for that! 👏

It’s a simple little app I use on my android phone (yes, it’s available for Apple iPhones, too) called Snapseed.

The photo below was sent to me by some lovely folks who read my blog on swagging a chandelier and reached out to share their success following my advice (gosh, I LOVE hearing these kinds of success stories!!!).

As you can see, the room is just lovely, but the photo was a little dark, a tiny bit crooked, and the window was overexposed:

Once I used Snapseed on the photo, it was bright and cheerful and perfect for sharing in a blog like this 😉 or on my Instagram feed!

And seriously folks, it takes me about two minutes. There are presets, but I usually start with “tuning” the photo (usually boosting the brightness and ambiance), then I rotate it to make sure my vertical lines are vertical. Crop as needed (I often crop to a square for easy Instagram posting) and *occasionally* use the perspective tool to stretch and adjust my vertical and horizontal lines.

I find Snapseed so easy to use that even when a photo doesn’t start on my phone I email it to myself so I can access and edit it on my phone. (Then, for those of you who use the Later app to schedule posts on Instagram, I just send it right to Later on my phone.)

Discovering Snapseed was a game changer for me being able to shoot and share my own pics – hope you find it useful too!

If you do, email me a before and after – can’t wait to see what pics you rescue with your mad skills!

Any of you out there doing photo editing for your colleagues, successful rescuing “afters”? Let me know, I’d love to shout you out!!

And if you’re new to this whole virtual design and digital marketing world it’s normal to feel a little bit out of your element. My Quick Fix sessions are only a click away if you need guidance or encouragement. 😀

May your design business always make you seriously happy!

Hi! I’m Rebecca!

When I closed my design biz to move to Paris I discovered how hard it was for me to refer my clients to other designers because I couldn't tell what the designer did, who they did it for, or what they delivered!

Now I'm on a mission to help designers nail their niche and set clear client expectations.

It's all about being able to clearly communicate what you do, who you do it for, what they should expect, and what they'll get, and it's the #1 key to getting hired by clients you love to work on projects you're proud of!
